Most of our posts are about places you can find in Tallahassee, FL, but our resident world traveler, Karen Kayir, will keep you updated on her meals as she jets around.

SketchyFoods.com is the brainchild of FSU Grad student Karen Kayir without whom this website would not exist.

We use the term “sketchy foods” lovingly.  We believe firmly that the best foods are sketchy foods.  These foods are not made in a factory using Chemistry Lab precision in their ingredient proportions, but foods created in a home kitchen, shack, cart, or truck using measurements like “three handfuls” and “’till it’s done”.

What do we consider sketchy when it comes to food?

• Foods you are unable to obtain a definitive ingredients list for (ie meat and/or poultry labels)
• Anything on on a stick
• Anything at the Fair
• Most things deep fried
• Anything at a Potluck
• Food that you have to go out of your way to eat
• Whatever we decide to post about on this site
